Acro classes consist of basic to advanced tumbling. Students progress with basic strength building exercises and total body awareness exercises.
Our pre teen and teen class consists of a group warm-up followed by an aerial warm-up on the silks. Students can sign up with Springfield Aerial Fitness. Emphasis on learning technique, ideal form, double foot locks, crossbacks and hip keys. Eventually learning choreography to link different moves together. Springfield Aerial Fitness is in a Partnership with Point Performing Arts
Ballet Level 1-5
Whether you are seeking classes as a recreational dancer or an aspiring professional ballerina, Point has a place for everyone. Ballet classes are offered for beginning through advanced levels. Point also offers pre pointe/pointe.
Combo Class (Ballet and Tap)
Classes are available for 2 to 3 years of age and 4 to 5 years of age.
These exciting classes are the perfect way for young children to sample and learn to love different styles of dance. All instructional material is presented in a fun imaginative manner.
Combo Class (Ballet, Tap and Jazz)
This 90 minute class is for ages 6 to 8 years of age. Children will be introduced to more complex ballet, tap and jazz techniques, while enjoying a fast paced, energetic atmosphere. They will also work on vocabulary and flexibility.
This class is designed to teach the students the importance of working together as a team. Students develop friendships that will last a lifetime. Learn respect for their dance peers while having lots of fun with their competition routines. Students on the team are required to also take one each of the ballet/taps/jazz classes offered during the week.
Contemporary focuses on the similarities and connections between ballet and jazz. This high energy class will strengthen your technique and versatility through movement sequences.

Hip hop is a high-energy class. Classes will encourage students to step outside of the box by bringing their own individual style and personality to the movements. Motion Playlist has joined Point Performing Arts to give the best Hip Hop Classes in the Springfield area.
Improvisation “generating spontaneous movement in the moment” can be a daunting and agonizing prospect for dancer who are used to being told precisely what to perform. It may be scary at first, but improve is a tool that can alter your relationship to dance completely.
Jazz combines many styles and techniques from ethnic and contemporary dance to ballet. These classes teach basic jazz dance technique, terminology and style with emphasis on proper technique, alignment and movement quality. Point offers different levels of jazz classes from recreational to professional levels.
Modern is based upon the movement, style and philosophy of theatre, developed by modern dance pioneers. We employ special techniques for developing the use of the entire body in movements expressive of abstract ideas.
Musical Theatre class will focus on learning proper dance technique while exploring the various dance styles used in Broadway shows. Musical Theatre is designed to develop comprehensive Musical Theatre skills including theatre dance, partnering, acting, and character development. This class provides excellent opportunity for students to prepare for school theatre auditions.
This class is for students ages 10 and older, who have studied ballet for at least 3 years and are taking 2 or more dance classes a week (including ballet). Instructor permission is required for Pointe classes.
This class is offered for students with Down syndrome, Autism and other disabilities. It is a great way for children with special needs to be involved in an extracurricular activity while improving motor skills, confidence and socialization. Dance can also be a unique and effective way to reach children with special needs because it is nonverbal. Students will learn the fundamentals of ballet as well as reinforcing and practicing basic academic skills (letters, numbers, shapes, etc.).
Four instructional components comprise this approach to tap. These classes start with strengthening exercises at the barre and progressing through choreography and progressions across the floor. Point tap classes stress the basics of tap while also teaching musicality and rhythm. Point has Bryan Berry teaching the tap classes available from recreational dancers to a professional level.
